Six-Month Family Photos in Delafield WI
Six months is such a fun age to photograph.
Babies start showing so much personality. They smile, interact, and often begin sitting up on their own. Those little milestones make every session feel different.
For this Delafield, Wisconsin family session, we photographed a beautiful baby girl who was just beginning to sit independently.
The session also had a special story behind it.
Mom won this photography session through my Mother's Day giveaway, and I was so excited to meet her family and capture this stage of their daughter's first year.
Family Photos at Delafield Fish Hatchery
We photographed at the Delafield Fish Hatchery, one of my favorite locations in the area.
One of the reasons I love this spot is the variety.
You can find so many different backdrops within a relatively small area, which makes it easy to create a full gallery without spending the entire session walking from place to place.
We used the creek and gravel path surrounded by trees. We also photographed near the old building with flowers in front of it. Then, we made our way to the small pond and boardwalk.
Each area gave us a slightly different look.
Baby Girl's Six-Month Milestone
Baby girl was just starting to sit up on her own, so we made sure to capture that milestone.
These little stages disappear so quickly.
One day, your baby needs help sitting. Then suddenly, they are crawling, walking, and running everywhere.
Photographs give parents a way to remember those in-between moments.
We captured baby girl alone, as well as photographs of Mom and baby and Dad and baby. We also made sure to get plenty of full-family portraits.
A Meaningful Location for This Family
The location had an extra special meaning for this family.
Mom chose the Delafield Fish Hatchery because her daughter's name has a connection to water. That made the creek and pond even more meaningful during their session.
They also held their daughter's gender reveal photos at this same location.
I love details like this.
A beautiful photography location becomes even more special when it already has a place in your family's story.
Instead of simply choosing a pretty backdrop, you are returning to a place where important memories have already happened.
Why I Love Photographing Baby Milestones
Family photography does not need to wait for a big milestone like a first birthday.
Six months can be the perfect time for updated family photos.
Your baby has changed so much since their newborn session. They are more expressive. They interact with you. They may be sitting up, grabbing their toes, or giving you their biggest smiles.
Those changes deserve to be documented, too.
